My Browser Didn't Work

For three days, my computer was acting strange. My browser didn't work and I can't get to my blog or anywhere else that I want to open. Everytime I opened it, the screen goes like this for several minutes that I have to restart it again and do the same.

It started last Friday and I was writing my post in between constant refreshing. I was not able to use this computer for the entire Sunday and this morning, I had figured out how I can get to my blog or anywhere else without using the browser. But tonight, I am just amazed that it turned back to normal. I guess my computer had to have some setbacks, too. Well, I am mighty glad that it works fine now. :)

Amaneo Kids

These are the kids that I grew up with when I was still in the Philippines. Starting from the eldest to the second of the youngest, I was taking care of them. I would like to name them starting from the left: Christian, Camille, Julie, JR, Vincent, Sheila and Chicklets.

I was not able to take care of the youngest (Julie Anne) because that was the time that I had decided to start my own life. I left the house and not too long after, I found a job in the city.

I saw this picture from their Facebook account and I can't help but be amazed that they are all so grown up now. Although I regularly talked to them online, but I still miss these kids and I am hoping to see them very soon.

Weekend Thanksgiving Dinner

We had our inter-family Thanksgiving Dinner this afternoon. In favor of those who had to work on Thanksgiving Day, they had come up to celebrate it today. It was fantastic. It was held in the baskeball court. There were a lot of foods on the table. It was so nice to have that big dinner with the family and neighbors. Family from Michigan (Charleen) and California (Pam & Bill) came down to join us on this day. And the most exciting part for me was meeting and introducing ourselves to neighbors that we have not met before.

It was a beautiful day, but for me it was a chilly day. I can't get out of bed early because I was really shaking. So, here I was, wearing long-sleeve shirts and I was still feeling cold. I am so thankful to God for this day and I prayed that may many more happy thanksgiving day will come on our way. God is good all the time!

Thanksgiving Day - Year 2

Happy Thanksgiving to all! I apologize for my late greeting. I have been very busy this day, but anyway, as they say, "it is better late than never". We have a little "Thankgsiving Day" celebration at Aunt Kathy's house, and the big one will be on Saturday.

I heard some people greet each other with "Happy Turkey Day", rather than "Happy Thanksgiving Day". I understand why they said that because this is the day where everybody got to have Turkey for dinner. But it losses its precious meaning which is to be thankful for the harvest and crops that we have throughout the year.

Anyway, I am only voicing out what has bothering me. I can get over it now. This is my second "Thanksgiving Day" here in USA. My husband wake me up this morning and was the first person who greeted me "Happy Thanksgiving Day". We were discussing what are the things that we are thankful for to the Lord on this year. I pray that we all have a happy thanksgiving day and had never forgotten to thank the Lord for everything that we got... now and every day of our lives.

You Are The Apple Of God's Eye

We heard a lot of this phrase "You are the apple of my eye". It usually comes from a romantic statement, a love letter, a song or maybe a poem. But do they know the real meaning of the word?

When the prophet of the Old Testament prophesy this sentence, he knew how very precious are each God's children in His eyes. God takes good care of us. He does what is best for us. At times, we may don't understand what is happening in our lives, but rest assured, He is in control. And nothing harm befalls to His children. We are the apple of His eyes ("apple" means "pupil") and like anybody else, nobody wants their eye's pupil be touched. It is our natural instinct to protect our pupil at all cost. And that is what God is exactly doing for us. He is protecting us at all cost. Even to the point of giving His son to die on the cross for us. Raggedy Ann & Andy

Do I have to introduce to you these little guys? I believe you all know who they are. Yes, they are the classic and ever popular Raggedy Ann & Andy. They are two of my first new housemates here in Florida, because my doll and stuffed animal collection that I had in Michigan was left there, and sad to say, they will have to stay there until Dad and Mom will come down here on next year.

They originally belong to my late-friend in Ohio, Beth. (Oh, I miss her.) Her husband was moving to Indiana and was giving away all her stuff to Goodwill. Coincidentally, I was there few days before he have to move out, and he told me that I can have anything I want from my friend's stuff. Two of the bagful of stuff that I got are these cutie pie little fella, Raggedy Ann & Andy. Beth's husband, Scott, told me that these rag dolls are original. He showed me the embroidery on each of their chest as a symbol of originality. They even told me that these would cost good money if you sell them. Of course, I am not interested to sell them.

The moment I held them, I fell in love with them right away. I feel like they were sad that their original owner who loved them so dearly left them, and that they will be in a stranger's home soon. Almost, but not anymore. I brought them home with me. I am sure that my dear friend is happy that I have them instead of somebody else can have them, and they are happy as well, because their original owner and I were dear friends. And I believe that they feel loved and home right here with me.

Letters Of Love

It has been several days that I am expecting a letter from my mama. I miss her and if my calculation is right, I should have a letter from her few days ago, but everyday that I checked on our mailbox, there is nothing from my mama. Although, according to my experience, that in times like this, where holidays are coming, mails takes longer than usual.

It has been a while that I didn't have any letter from my mama because I told her to hold it until we moved here in Florida, and because the date of our moving was kind of uncertain then. Her letter for me brought warmth to my heart and make me feel like I am home with her.

I have this same feeling when I missed to read my bible for a few days. It is the emptiness inside of me. The words of our Lord has left us with reminders of His love for us. The scripture was, is and will always be His love letters for us that lovingly shows His concerns in us.

Let us read God's word often and be reminded that Jesus loves us and died for us. God's letter through the scripture speaks love to us, like it lovingly embraces us. Undeniably, God's word is always the best love letter in the world.

House Decorating Can Sometimes Be Overwhelming

I have always wished to have this kind of wall clock. We have a wall clock here that Mary gave to us. It is similar to this, only metal and without the other features. I always like it made of wood so that it would appear like antique. I hope we can get something like this in the future. Sometimes it can be very overwhelming furnishing or decorating our new house, but we have to arrange them into prioritization.

Does It Snow Up There Yet?

I was blog hopping this morning and I saw some picture of them on the snow. It made me miss the snow. What??? Don't get me wrong. I don't like to be on the snow, ( and that is the reason why we move here in Florida) but I like watching the snow.

Anyway, this picture was taken a year ago at our backyard in Michigan while I was walking Fluffer. I just love the sight of the snow. It was white all over. It was so amazingly beautiful.

I don't mind if there will be snow pouring here in Florida because I believe I know it won't last that long as in Michigan. Does it start to snow now up there in North?

SYDNEY (AFP) – More than 100, and possibly hundreds, of Antarctic icebergs are floating towards New Zealand in a rare event which has prompted a shipping warning, officials said on Monday.
An Australian Antarctic Division glaciologist said the ice chunks, spotted by satellite photography, had passed the Auckland Islands and were heading towards the main South Island, about 450 kilometres (280 miles) northeast.
Scientist Neal Young said more than 100 icebergs -- some measuring more than 200 metres (650 feet) across -- were seen in just one cluster, indicating there could be hundreds more.
He said they were the remains of a massive ice floe which split from the Antarctic as sea and air temperatures rise due to global warming. "All of these have come from a larger one that was probably 30 square kilometres (11.6 square miles) in size when it left Antarctica," Young told AFP. Go to Yahoo for continuation...

New Set Of Yarns

Just few days ago, I showed you my finished crochet blanket. I have another one half-way done, but I have to redo it because I messed up. I promised to myself that I will not work on it or start a new one until first day of December. I want to rest my fingers. But something happened...

We visited our Aunt Kathy and Aunt Sallie-Jean yesterday after we took application form from a place that was hiring for assistant. Aunt Kathy was working on new piece of crochet blanket. The style that she was working on was the style that I was trying to do but has messed up. Aunt Sallie-Jean was trying to show me how to do it and later, decided to give me these set of yarns so that I can start on it. Aunt Kathy gave me a couple of new hooks and needle, too.
.
I have decided that I will give this crochet blanket to my mama when I get to visit her, hopefully, on her birthday which will be on January 13th. If God is willing. I know my mama will like this colors because these are light and they are her favorite colors. I can't wait to finish this and have this give to her and see how happy she will be. I will also tell my mama that it was Aunt Sallie-Jean who provided the yarns.

It's About Time To Wear Reading Eyeglasses

As I am writing this post, I am hoping that my husband will thought of opening my blog tomorrow and thus, he will find and read this post.

One of my wishlist for this coming Christmas is to have a prescription glass. After staying more than a year here in USA, and being on the computer most of the time, it prompts me to say that it is about time that I should wear a prescription glass. I know I should have been wearing reading glasses long time ago. There were times that I had a “C” attack. I know you would wonder what it is. I’m sorry; I don’t know what better word to explain it. World Hello Day

I checked my calendar world of events and I found out that today, November 21st is a "World Hello Day!" Its objective is to simply greet ten people with "Hello" and it will make the whole world smile for a day.

Do U Sudoku?

My mama loves to play word puzzle and sudoku. I used to help her collect them from daily newspaper. I love doing word puzzle, too. I even bought myself a book that contains word puzzle on every pages. I was not interested with the sudoku because I didn't understand how they play it and I didn't bother to find out how, too.

Yesterday, my husband was holding a newspaper and pen, headed to the bathroom (--?--). After several minutes, he came out with a big smile. I asked him why. He told me that he was happy that he had solved the sudoku in no time at all.

That sparks an interest in me. I asked him how to play it and I did tried it. We printed out sudoku sheets from online. On my first sheet, I wasn't doing good. My husband explained to me the secret in solving it faster, I tried his way and he was right, I did solved my second sheet in no time at all.

During our free time, we sat together in the living room and solve each other's sudoku sheet. It is fun and I really enjoyed it.

My First Crochet Blanket

I am very happy that my first crochet blanket that I have been working on two weeks ago is finally done. Here it is. My choice of colors are sweet. Very feminine. Next time I will try neutral. I love this and I am very glad to be able to accomplish a thing in between house chores, writing reviews and blogging.

During the first few days of doing this, I complained about neck & back pain and on my fingers, too, but as I continue on, the pain didn't bother me anymore. Happy Wordless Wednesday to us all. This is supposed to be a wordless post as its title says, but this time, I have to break the rules for some reasons.

If you have been through the comment page, you would see that some are wondering if this is my hands. Yes, this is my hands. Freak, huh? I learned to do this when I was still a little girl. They used to bully me because I could be brought to a circus and they could make money on me. Well, I think my fingers are too skinny and flexible that I can twist them like these.

Living Within Margin

When I was still in school, my favorite part in Arts subject is doing the margin. I love doing it and I am very good at it. Margin is the space set so that it will not go beyond what is good to look at, (in other words; appropriate).

In our lives, we have margins, too. Margin is the space between ourselves and our limits. God created the world with "margins".
*He sets the Sunday to be the day of rest.
*He commanded the land to separate from the water.
*He commanded us to give His tithes on what we make.
*He place the night to end the day. (...and many more.)
