Sunrise At Cocoa Beach

Charleen and I agreed to spend the sunrise at the Cocoa Beach this morning, to spend our devotion there at the beach. And so it did. We left the house around 6:30 a.m., and we were there when the sun starts to come up. It was such a beautiful sunrise to behold.

I had to wrap my sarong around me because it was chilly. There are few people who were there, too. Some of them were jogging, some were just doing brisk walk, some were just warming up while some, like us, just want to spend the time with the Lord in the beach.
.
It feels so wonderful meditating upon God's word and talking to God in a place where all you can see is the beauty of the nature. God is the mighty creator of all. Great is His name. I just can't help but praise His greatness and loveliness.

Summer Minus Mosquito = Fun

We are still here in Florida now. We have good time in here. Only one thing that I don't like being here in Florida, MOSQUITOS. I hate them. We had fun swimming at the pool, while making some pork barbeque, but part of that happy story was the disappointing attack of mosquitos. They were ruining our happiness. It is so sad that because of the mosquitos, we can't take full advantage of being outside or doing some outdoor activities.

Dancing With God

When I meditated on the word Guidance,

I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.

I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.

When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.

The movement doesn't flow with the music,

And everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.

When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,

Both bodies begin to flow with the music.

One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back?

Or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another.

It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully...

The dance takes surrender, willingness,

And attentiveness from one person

And gentle guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word Guidance...

When I saw "G": I thought of God, followed by "U" and "I"."

God, "U" and "I" dance."

God, you, and I dance. As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust

That I would get guidance about my life.

Once again, I became willing to let God lead.

My prayer for you today is that God's blessings

And mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.

May you abide in God, as God abides in you.

Dance together with God, trusting God to lead

And to guide you through each season of your life.

This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached.

If God has done anything for you in your life,

Interceding in prayer is one of the best gifts we can receive.

While we were having dinner at the house of Orville and Mary the other day, Mary was watching the TV news. All of a sudden, she rushed going outside as she told us that the rocket was launching. All of us followed her, and there it was up in the sky, the rocket. I was so happy, because the first time I had witnessed a rocket launching, I was not able to see anything because of its dark cloudy sky. We only heard the loud roar. But that time, it was so clear that we really saw it rocketing through the outer space, and of course, we also heard the loud roar of it. It was such an awesome sight that I thanked God for giving me the chance to witness it. It was something that I only used to see in the movie house and television.

Man's Behavior

Reading Stormie Omartian's book, "Power of a Praying Wife", made me learned about how to deal a husband's behavior. If there is an area of his life that you want to correct, talking about it needs a lot of preparation that can only be fulfilled by prayers and prayers.

Most of the men takes correction as a form of criticism on them no matter how gentle you may deliver it. It made them feel failure in their husbandhood. The truth of the matter is that the more things you correct a man, the more mistakes they made, because the effect of correction on them took the right concentration from them and it made them feel they are terrible. It leads them into living a miserable life, too. Truth to the matter is, they don't have the ability to look for the right solution to it.

This is how the power of the praying wife took place in helping them to have the right thinking and behavior. Once the woman married the man, a certain power was being laid on the wife's hand, it is the power to pray for him. That same power was from his mother and was passed to his wife prior to marriage. My Sister's Keeper

Mary treated Charleen and I to movie house yesterday afternoon. We went to Merritt Square to watch "My Sister's Keeper". I am so glad Mary treated us on this movie, because truth to the matter was, I had wanted to watch this but obviously, this is not the kind of movie my husband want to watch. And so when Mary told me that we will be watching it, I was so happy. She told us that we will going to have some crying... something that women shares with. The irony was that we paid to watch the movie and it made us cry. (he-he-he) And yes, everybody in the theatre was crying. Anyway, here is the short review about the movie:

Sara (Cameron Diaz) and Brian Fitzgerald (Jason Patric) have just been informed that their young daughter Kate (Sofia Vassilieva) has leukemia, and that she only has a few years to live. The doctor suggests to the parents that they try an unorthodox medical procedure of producing another child in a test-tube that would be a perfect match as a donor for Kate. Sara will try anything to save Kate, and they have a new baby Anna (Abigail Breslin) to be used as a donor for Kate. The first thing they use is blood from the umbilical cord for Kate. As Anna turned three years old, the doctors must take bone marrow from Anna to give to Kate. At age 11, the next thing Anna must give to her sister is a kidney. Anna has had enough of all of these medical procedures, and she decides to sue her parents for medical emancipation and the right to decide how her body will be used. The whole family is being torn apart by Anna's decision because everyone knows what will happen to Kate if she doesn't get a new kidney.

The Big And The Little Dipper

We were out shrimping again last night because as Orville said, when there's storm around, it is the best time for shrimping. Indeed, we were not disappointed, we caught a whole bunch of shrimps that were more than enough for five people.

Plus, I had my crab again... and this time, there were two fishes in the trap, too. As usual, I had the crab and the two fishes all by myself because nobody else want it. I enjoyed my breakfast with the sauteed crab and the fried fishes this morning.

Back to last night activity, right from our location while we were shrimping, we saw the rocket that was ready to launch anytime at Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, it was ready that the all lights were up like a giant flourescent from a distance, but because of the stormy weather last night, they had to postpone it.

My husband pointed to me the "big dipper" and was trying to find the "little dipper"... everybody else helped finding the "little dipper", too. They were trying to explain to me these stars. The Big Dipper and Little Dipper are part of the constellations of Ursa Major and Ursa Minor respectively. I think I have seen these stars back in the Philippines, too, and I just didn't took notice of it.

It is really very important for me to learn driving for the sake of emergency situations. While we were having dinner at the Italian fastfood this afternoon, a cellphone call informed my husband that Michael Jackson just died. He turned to me and break the news. He said he was so sad because he used to like him very much. He said it reminded him of Elvis Presley, died at the age of 40+, and some of his other "used-to-be" favorite artist that died around 40+, too. He wondered why. He looked at me and asked why I didn't look surprised.

Why? I replied to him that we all know that Michael had been sick for a while, and that was why I was not surprised at all. And about his wonderings on why his "used-to-be" favorite artists died at early age, obviously, there was only one common factor, and it was because they had greatly abused their body. There is no mystery or whatsoever with that death. It was plain self-abused.

Anyway, I admit, I used to like Michael Jackson, too. I used to love his song such as Ben, Happy and some of those good songs that I forgot the titles. Obviously, he had made millions of people happy with his songs. I just hope that somebody else had shared the good news of salvation to him and has accepted Jesus as his personal savior and Lord.

Mango And Banana Surprise

I was reading my book this afternoon, my eyes were wandering outside the window, it took a while before I realized that I saw something that should excite me... I saw a big mango fruit hanging down its bough. I rushed out from the apartment and there I saw that the mango tree was really not a big tree. When I turned around after taking picture of the mango tree, I was struck by another surprise. There in front of me was the short banana tree. But there was no fruit on it yet. Wow! I feel like I am in the Philippines.

I love traveling. Oh yes, I do. I love to see the places that God has wonderfully and uniquely made on every country. I want to be in awed at His creation. I believe I am not alone in this dream. I know a lot of people who made a list of places they want to go before they die. I think I should make one, too.

A couple of days ago, Charleen, my husband and I were playing a game. I forgot the name of the game, but it was something like taking turns on who will answer a certain question. One turn was for me and the question was "What countries do you wish to visit?" There were many places that I had mentioned such as Spain, UK, Germany, Ireland, etc. There is something in that place that made it very special, especially their church buildings, that were reportedly abandoned and were turned into entertainment establishment. That is such a sad story.

Prayer Request For Charleen

One of the reason that we are here in Florida is that my husband's cousin, Charleen, was called for an interview in one of the big company here in Florida that she had applied for. She needs somebody to switch turn in driving from Michigan all the way down to Florida. Her interview was last Tuesday (not yesterday) and up until now she had not getting any call from the company yet.

I was praying for her during the time of her interview and Charleen said that she had felt the comfort during that very moment.

.

I would like to request a prayer for her that she will be accepted to work in that company. Charleen needs the job and we believe that God provides our needs. Yet not according to our will, but according to God's will and His plan in our life. And whatever will be accomplish, God alone deserves all the glory and praises.

One of the things that excites me coming here in Florida is the availability of Filipino goodies around. I asked WOF ( http://www.theworldoffilipinas.com/ ) members for leading on where to find Filipino stores, and I was surprised to learned that there is one very close by our place. The name of the store is Ice Cream Junction and Oriental Store. I had the chance to met the wife of the owner, a Filipina. She was from Bataan. Learn From The Consequence

There was one time in my life that I did something seriously bad choice in my life, as in it was a SIN. It was something that I could have avoided but my wicked thoughts had misled me that it would not give me serious problem in the future. To make the story short, as expected (although I was still surprised) an enemy's plot had spread it among few of those who knew me. It was like my world was spinning. I took it as a wake-up call from God. Although I know that God could save me from that shameful experience, but God in His loving-kindness being, wanted to change me... and it has to be in a rough way, if needed.

I run to God at once... cried and repented. I thanked God for the fire that refined me, because after all, it will for my own good. He was molding me to be more like him day by day. I spent a day of prayer and fasting, asking God to stop it from spreading around. "Let me not be put to shame, O LORD, for I have cried out to you;" Psalm 31:17a NIV And since then, I learned my lesson and was strengthen against the snare of sin. I am convinced that every wrong decision we made has a consequence. Sure enough, God will forgive us if we confess our sins to Him. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1John 1:9 NIV But still we can't avoid the consequence. However, we can pray to either shorten it or lighten it... by confession, repenting and declaring that you have learned something from it. I believe that consequences are set to enable us to learn something from it. That is why I used to tell my friends that are in problem to learn from their circumtances, or else they will have to go through it all over again. We don't want the pain... and in the other way, it is wasting time, too.

I Want To See Singapore

I am very happy because the guy who took care of my AOS (Adjustment of Status) e-mailed us and told us that by the third week after he filed my papers, I will receive a notice, stating that my papers will be on process. AOS or what is popularly called the Green Card is very important to me. It will enable me to go back to the Philippines to visit my family and friends. It will enable me to go to other countries, too, such as Canada, Carribean, Europe and to some Asian Countries. I would love to go to Canada to see the Niagara Falls, while my husband wants to take me to Carribean Islands for holidays.

Talking about traveling to another country, I specifically want to see the country of Singapore. Happy Birthday, Dongkay!

I am the kind of person that kept in mind the birthdays and special days of my family, friends and relatives. I don't miss the day without greeting them. When I was still in the Philippines, I used to celebrate every 22nd of June, because it is the day that we (my best friend, Ann & I) brought home a dog. We gave him a name of "Douglas", but we call him "Dodong" for his nickname, that later on turned into "Dongkay" as a way of endearment. Although June 22nd was not his birthday, but we just consider it his birthday since then. I gave importance on birthdays to all of our dogs by giving them special treatments.

All these are our dogs. I will name them from left to right: Inday, Kulot, Dongkay and Dogyot. Strange names, huh? We love all of them fairly and they love us back, too. I miss these "little guys" very much. They have been a part of my time, attention and financial, too. Each of them have unique traits that made them different from the others. They gave us happiness and unconditional love. I just hope that by the time that I can have the chance to go back to the Philippines, they will still recognize and love me as they did before.

Happy 16th Years Of Friendship

Back in 1993, I was working as an artist-designer in one of the novelty production in one of the small city in the Philippines. June 20th of the same year, another artist-designer was hired, her name was Ruby Ann. Since we were in the same work field, we became friends right away... that leads to being best friends... not just us, but both our families were being connected, too. We became like one family because of our friendship.

A year after that, we both resigned from that job and ventured to the big city for greener pasture. For a lot of times we work in the same company. God had blessed both of us with a good job.

God had also blessed both of us spiritually. He brought us to a "home church" where God enriched, trained and filled us with His holy word and fellowship with one another. We became active in a separate church ministry and made us grow into usefulness on our given gifts and ministry.

Sixteen years later, we are still best friends now. Although there has been a lot of storms came in our way and had threatened our friendship like most of the friendship, but through prayers, God covered and made it stronger than ever. We support each other, especially in times of needs in every aspect of our lives. And now that I am here, it did not gave us the reason that our friendship would subside. We talked through Yahoo Messenger almost every night here, while it is day time there (during her office work) in the Philippines. Space Shuttle Off To The Moon To Find Water Ice

A space shuttle was announced to launch yesterday at 5:32 p.m. EDT at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. Its mission is to search for water ice in a permanently shadowed crater at the moon's south pole. The satelite was lifted off on an Atlas V rocket with a companion mission, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, or LRO.

Its original launching schedule was June 16th, but was cancelled after a hydrogen gas leak was discovered on a vent pipe leading off the shuttle's external tank.

We were at Cocoa Beach at around 3:00 p.m., to make sure we can get a better spot. Cocoa Beach is only several minutes away from Cape Canaveral. More and more people were coming as the time of launching get closer. At around 5:20 p.m. , everybody got their cameras and videos ready. So did I. Few minutes later, we heard the very loud roar. I was told it was the space shuttle. We were watching closely at the sky for the space shuttle to appear on sight... but we were disappointed to see nothing. The sky was very cloudy then, that it concealed the space shuttle up in the sky. Or maybe we should have use a binocular. It could surely help. "Well, at least we heard it!" was everybody's consolation words.

Oh Sebastian, You Are So Yummy!!!

We went shrimping with Orville, my husband's cousin, the other night. It was our first time going with him shrimping under the bridge. We had fun. The weather was good. I was enjoying the activities. And these are what I had caught (by hand using net on stick), one shrimp and one crab. But of course, we set four traps, too, and they were filled with shrimps.

Thirty minutes after, here is my crab. All red and was ready to eat. I made rice and I had my second dinner in the middle of the night. And since nobody else among us that would want to eat crab, that was why I had the whole crab all by myself. Oh, Sebastian, you are so yummy!

The shrimps were turned into shrimp cocktail the following day and all of us were enjoying them. Thank you, God, for the food that was on my plate.

North Carolina, Here We Come!

We are still here in Florida, and in the few days, if God is willing, we plan to move and have few days stop at South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia... going up to north... heeding home. My husband's cousin told me that there are a lot of beautiful place to see in these states. I am very excited to see them... and of course, to buy key chain in every state to add to my collection.

The Notion Of Reading Love Novel Books

This picture is taken in the house of our Aunt Kathy. She got a bunch of love novel books. Since she is not allowed to move around very much because of her delicate health lately, and reading these books filled her day.

I used to read a lot of these kind of books several years ago. Actually, I started reading these kind of books during my age of 13, because my mama had a bunch of love novel books, too. I remembered I tried reading one out of curiousity, then, I found out that I enjoyed it. It leads to another book... and another book. It later leads me to get interested in more thicker love novel book. But the time come that my eyes started to have problem, and it prompted me to stop reading from then on. Although I still read nowadays, but I am more careful on what I am reading. I rather choose to read something very useful for my life such as devotional reading materials, christian books and above all, the Holy Bible.

There is a notion about reading these love novel books. I remembered one friend told me that I will not get married if I read a lot of these kind of books. Although it was explained to me... and how I understood it was that, reading these kind of books will make you fantasize a lot of a specific man to come to your life, but it won't, and that's how you end up to be an old maid. But later did I realized the logic to it; reading these kind of books gives you the picture of a perfect man and a perfect relationship, and that is why if you are in a relationship, the tendency is, you will be comparing the person or your relationship to the story you had read... and having found flaws, you end up breaking the person or the relationship you are into... and go on looking for the perfect person and the perfect relationship... all those ideas are from the book you are reading which is way too hard to be possible. And thus you end up not marrying at all.

Well, I believe it can be possible. It will depend on how you view life. Somehow, I am glad that I am already married and had got over that notion.
