Unstable Internet Connection

We lost our internet connection last Saturday afternoon and since it was weekend, even though we called them, they didn't fix it up and so we have to wait 'till today. The internet connection came back this morning, but this night, it is still unstable and for few times that we lost the connection again.

It is very irritating, especially when you are caught in the middle of doing something very important. Somehow, I am able to visit some of you... and to those that I have not visited yet; don't worry, I will find ways... most probably, I will be able to do it tomorrow again.

Flower Of The Week #10 - Poppies

Being here in USA is a privilege to see all the beautiful flowers that are not available in my country, Philippines. I love flowers very much. My mother does, too. I want to make a photo collection of them starting this day. I will be posting the "Flower of the Week every Friday. These flowers will either be from our garden or from somewhere that I will have PERSONAL ENCOUNTER to... and definitely, they will be from my camera, too.

Poppies are very soothing to my eyes. I used these flowers as designs on my (wedding) "Thank You" card that I gave away to those who were in our wedding day. I glued them on the card paper and laminated them with white glue to preserve its color. Everybody commented that my card was pretty.

Food Trip Friday #11 - Sili Sauce

I am joining Mommy Willa on this "Food Trip Friday" meme for a reason that I want to challenge myself to try something new food at least once a week in order for me to learn to cook.

It has been a while that I had not the chance to cook something new because we have been extremely busy lately. Our dinner tonight was pork barbecue and my husband asked me to make some sili sauce. "Sili" is the small red pepper that is shown in the picture. They are very hot and they are from our garden. It is expected that more peppers are coming in the next couple of weeks. He likes sili sauce very much, especially on pork barbecue and pork adobo.

Here are the stuff I use to make a good sili sauce:

*Medium chopped onions

*3-4 pieces of sili

My Version Of In-House Steam Bath

Several days ago, I felt strange in my body. I even suspected it was depression. I didn't know what to do to make me feel better. I realized that I need to run, (just as how I used to do when I was still in the Philippines) but it was too cold to run outside. I came up with the idea of in-house sauna. Since I can't find the small camping tent we have in the garage, I had come up with the idea of using blanket and I did this in our bathroom. Here is what I did:

Today, we will be going down to Detroit for the Cotton's family reunion. It is in my mom-in-law's family side. Hug Month - August or November?

My calendar of event, 123India.com, says August is a "Hug Month", while 43things.com says it is November. Hmm... I wonder which one is true. However, I love the thought that they have come up with this idea of "Hug Month". We all need a hug.

God's commands to us includes sharing to others the free gift of salvation. This is our commission in life. I love to share to others about Jesus' love to us, but I have a problem. Everytime I started to talk, it seems that everything that I learned had just disappeared and I just went blank. I don't know what to say next. Until I found myself sorry... sorry that I caused confusion to the person I was sharing to, instead of enlightening... and the worst could be, that I made them feel so sinful in themselves instead of showing them God's grace and forgiveness. God knows that was not my intention.

Other than that, the reason of why I have problem in conversation because of my speech impair problem. Yes, I have that and that made me so self-conscious everytime I made some conversation with others. However, I believe that it is not an excuse because my speech problem is not really so bad.

Sometimes, as I was talking to somebody, there were times that the Holy Spirit told me that the opportunity was knocking. Most of the time, I found my heart praying to God to use me, supplying me on what to say.... "Now, I have put my words in your mouth." Jeremiah 1:9b NIV.But I am glad, real glad that God lead me to this blogging world. I found my usefulness in here. I take pleasure in living to tell God's amazing grace. As my title said, There is nothing more fulfilling than doing what God wants us to do.

I was talking about my procession of documents for my “Adjustment of Status” and what are the things I can do when I get it. Primarily, it is for traveling, so that I can go and visit my mama in the Philippines and also, so that my husband can take me anywhere outside the US for a vacation.

Another good country that I really want to go and see are the countries that are in the continent of Europe. Undeniably, these countries are really fascinating. One of the places that we can consider as amazing is the country of Switzerland; it is located in the heart of Europe; with its awesome places and the riches of culture. It is always the culture and the adventure that makes the travel experience memorable.

I was browsing through their “Events of the Week” and these photos shown my top 5 picks for Swiss Gems. I am more interested in 17th Street Artists Festival; where a wonderful patchwork of artists from all over the world joins this festival. Fire spires, magicians, mimes, ventriloquists and tap-dancers from America, Australia, Czech Republic, Belgium, France and of course from Switzerland are presenting their last novelties and shows. For two days more than 100 mini-spectacles enchant the old town of Vevey. This sounds fantastic!

The Faces Of Grace

By definition, grrace is "the unmerited favor" by which God shows us the kindness we don't deserve. It is closely related to His mercy by which He withholds the punishment we have earned.

The trouble with grace is that a lot of people misunderstand it and "mis-used" it to bring out the worst in us. Unaware, grace can be taken advantage of by those who think they are entitlted to benefits they have not earned. And it can be regarded as a saftey net by those who do wrong with the intention of asking for forgiveness later.

The good thing about grace is that it can bring out the best in us, more than any moral threat, challenge, or education ever could. More than any drug, dream or good fortune in which that we became so dependent on common grace that we couldnot even reach up to God with an open hand, or a clenched fist. apart from the life and strength that we've been given.

As always, grace finds a way to reflect on undeserved kindness that is consistent with God's common and saving grace. Grace had found its way from God's heart to our heart. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV Oh, I love the grace of God in my life.

While my husband and I were in Upper Peninsula for our wedding anniversary celebration, we were both hungry for a good steak from Outback. The "Third Person" in Totem Villate Museum

Here is a shot with these lovely and respected Indian couple during our visit in the Totem Village Museum in St. Ignace, Upper Peninsula, MI. Do I look like one of them? (He-he-he)

Totem Village Museum is a part museum, part gift shop and a part zoo. It may not seem any different from Curio Fair or Indian Village, themed tourism done by amateurs with a primarily commercial intent. However, if you come inside and explore, it's clear that Totem Village is informed by a sincere spirit that respected Ojibwa life as its founder came to understand it, at a time when very little attention had been paid to Ojibwa culture.

Beyond its paths lead outside, where bobcats, sprightly sika deer, peacocks, thunder foxes, and a porcupine are in large enclosures beneath cedars. My husband had the chance to feed the deers and I was overwhelmed with the sweet and lovely sounds the deer made. They are just so lovely.

I Want To See Puerto Moreno Glacier

One of the reasons why I need very much my Adjustment of Papers is that it will allow me to travel outside the USA. My husband wants to take me to Canada and to South America for a vacation as soon as I received the said papers. He assures me that we will not regret it, and that there will be a whole bunch of fantastic places to explore in these countries. One particular country that we want to go is the Argentina. We have seen a lot of “tourism-related” TV show about Argentina, and it is just so amazing.
