Address Plaque For Our Home

We are almost on our four months here in our new home. Being a first time homemaker, I can’t help but be happy on what I have done to our home. We have decorated and furnished our house the way both my husband and I like it. It is a good thing that when it comes to purchasing stuff for our house, we have the same taste, or we would have end up arguing about it. My husband is the one who is picky, but I always respected his choices, after all, his choices are all elegant.
.
Within four months in our new home, we are not done furnishing it. There are still things that we want to buy but have to set aside because there are things that are of greater importance as well. One of our projects for this month of February will be for our door. I would like to have a pretty address plaque hang on it, and a little note and pen holder for anyone who would missed us. I like that thought that they will have to leave their message on the note and telling us that they were here.
.
I found this address sign in JustAddressPlaques.com. It is a Lewis Fretwork Plaque. I like it for our door. I have not showed this to my husband yet, but I am sure that he will like this, too. If you are interested on this product, visit their website and enjoy their hundreds and hundreds of address plaques styles.

National Wildlife Refuge In Titusville, FL

Saturday morning, Ed and Annette took us to National Wildlife Refuge in Titusville. It was a rough and stinky road, but the sight was worth the trip. We saw huge alligators, armadillos, vultures and these breath-taking storks.

.
Take note, this is not a zoo. The place is a wildlife refuge where wildlife are free to live as they ought to be. As long as you are in the car, you are safe, but if you get out from the car, you better be careful and look around for possible attack. Well, they say that these alligators are not aggressive as long as you don't aggravate them as well. There they are, just lying down, and it didn't seem to bother them that we are a couple of yards away from them.
I love these storks. They are so awesome to look at, especially before they saw us, they started to scattered and move away from us. It was the first time I had ever seen storks. I thought they were swan.
Behind me is an alligator that was crawling away from us. Way behind are vultures on those palm trees. I was kind of scared at them, too, because I had a feeling that they would attack my head. Aww!
That was a great whole day for the four of us. I really enjoyed it. After there, we had lunck at Dog's R Us. Then, we went to cheap stores for second hand stuff. We love going to cheap stores. Thanks again to Ed and Annette. Annette is my husband's cousin. We just love being with them.

Working Mom Is Not An Easy Task

I really have high respect for those who are working so hard, and at the same time taking care of their family. It is the situation with my niece. She is a single mom (because the father of her baby died early) and at the same time she is the head in the Human Resource Department of a prestigious company, and her work is filled with pressures and way too high expectations that made her render extra time working to meet the deadline. Her baby is growing and is in the stage where attention and personal care becomes demanding. The good thing is that the president of their company had a way in making her job easier. With laptop, internet access and remote support software, her work became less stressful, and the good thing is, she can spend time with her baby, too.
.
She is very thankful to PROXY Pro 6, because it has Remote Access that allows her to operate her work from her home. PROXY Pro 6 is the latest version of remote support software solutions. Lost & Found

There is a spot in Wal-Mart that really catches my attention every time my husband and I go there, especially if we stop by the RedBox, it is the "Missing People" corner. Looking at their pictures and details, I can't help but be sad and wonder where they are now and how their family handled the situation. When it comes to emotion, I admit that I am very weak. I don't know how sad I will be if somebody that I love will be lost. I don't even want to think about it.
.
I am sure that was how Jesus feel towards those who were and are lost, and that was why Jesus did not hesitate to go with Zaccheus to his house, because Jesus was so joyful when He found Zaccheus. Zaccheus was lost and was found. I believe that Jesus had the same joy when He found me while I was lost. I am very glad to be found and now I am home in God's love.
.
If you know anybody that was lost, let us bring them back home to Jesus. The bible says that the angels in heaven are rejoicing over one soul that was lost and is found to be with Jesus again. "The Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." Luke 19:10

Turn Waste Into Money

One of the things that really impressed me when I get here in US is the cleanliness on the streets. Here in our place, we have huge bins at every corner. Our wastes here are divided into four categories. My husband told me that the bottles and pop cans that we threw away are what we paid for the garbage pick-up team.
.

Food Trip Friday #17 - Clams

I am joining Mommy Willa on this "Food Trip Friday" meme for a reason that I want to challenge myself to try something new food at least once a week in order for me to learn to cook.
.
.
.
.
.
I love clams. Actually, I love almost all kinds of sea foods. When I first met my husband (he was my boyfriend then), the only sea foods he can eat was shrimp. He had Gambas at Tambuli and he liked it very much. Then, I made him tasted grilled squid, and he was surprised that he liked it.
.
Few months after I arrived here, I started missing my kind of food, and so, by the help of my best friend in Cebu, I learned to cook Filipino foods, which I never did before when I was still in the Philippines. Every time I cook something new, I always made my husband have some taste. On his age of almost 50, he had his first mussel, oyster and clams; and he like them all. Everybody who knows him had a hard time believing that I made him eat those and like those.
.
He likes best the clams. Few days ago, we went to the fish market and bought a hundred clams. Yes, a hundred clams, because it is cheaper by hundreds. Here is how I cook them:
*Bring to boil a large pot with 6 cups of water
* Add 5 large tomatoes, 5 stalks of green onions, 5 cloves of crush garlic, few dashes of salt and pepper.
*Clean the clams shell using an old toothbrush.
*When the water starts boiling, put the clams on it. Put the lid on.
*Taste and season as desired.
*Remove from heat five minutes after the second boiling and serve.
.
And guess what, he had seventy clams while I had thirty. :)

We Never Know When Danger Comes

I got a job offer to work as a cashier in a convenient store, but I am hesitating on getting the job. I have to admit that I am scared of being hold up by gun point. I have seen a lot of that case here in Florida on television. I need work but… (sigh) I don’t know …

Although we have security service here in our place, but I am still practicing caution on every situation, like for instance every time I am taking shower, I told my husband that if he have to go outside, he should lock the door and bring with him his key. We don’t know when danger comes to our home and it is better to stay safe. This afternoon, after I took shower, somebody knock on the door, it was a man claiming that he was an agent for cruise ship travel agency. It was very alarming, because nobody was allowed to do that within our complex. I guess it is about time that we consider using home security system .

Thankful Thursday - The Glory Of God

It has been a while since the last time that I posted my Thankful Thursday and I don't want to miss this again tonight. Giving thanks to God is one form of worship and for all the blessings that God gave to us, the least that we can do is to give thanks to Him in a way that can either be heard or read, so that the glory of God will shine in our lives.

"All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God." (2 Corinthians 4:15 NIV)

...*I thank God for the good health He bestowed on me, my husband and to our families.
...*I thank God for the project that my husband and I are working on lately. It gave us something to look forward everyday.
...*I thank God for giving us a family here in USA that are very supportive and helpful to me.
...*I thank God that we are progressing as the days go by.
...*I thank God for my sponsored post throughout the week.
...*I thank God for my using me and my blog to bless others.
...*I thank God for all the bloggers that visited me and may He bless all your blogs, too.
...*I thank God for keeping us safe in everything we do and every where we go.
...*I thank God that He has been blessing me and my husband spiritually, which is for me is the most important part of our living.
...*I thank God for giving me a loving and understanding husband.
And many, many more. Let us all remember that we can not ran out of things to be thankful for. God is good all the time. He deserves all the praises and thanksgiving forever and ever.

Cheap DSL Internet Services

It has been almost four months since we moved down here in Florida all the way from Michigan. Although I can’t say that we have an easy life right now, but with all my heart, I can say that I am loving our life here in Florida. Within that time, we had accomplished a lot of things already, but not everything that we need to do. And right now, we are both focused on getting ourselves a job to have a better life than what we have right now.

Another thing that we need to take care of is to get internet service. Right now we are using our cousin’s connection, and it is not very good at all. This has really affected my blogging activity, but I have to understand that getting internet service will take a lot of money from our monthly budget, and we both didn’t think we are ready to commit for that cost. Well, I guess we have to live with this poor internet connection for the meantime.

But I think I found a solution for this problem that we have. Affordable and reliable dial-up internet access is offered in Copper.net. Their internet services starts at the price as low as $9.95 a month. It is an all American owned and operated company specializes in dial-up and dsl service in United States and Canada. If you are interested on this, please go with me to their website and let’s learn more about their service.

Florida's Filipino Newspaper

I found this Florida's Filipino newspaper called "Basta Pinoy" at the Oriental Food Mart, Cocoa Beach, two Saturdays ago. I was so happy when I saw this, although this paper is a few weeks old, but it doesn't matter to me. I brought it home and read it. I was glad to be able to feed my eyes with Filipino updates and it has some Filipino jokes, too, which gave me a lot of good laugh.

The front page shows the image of Ms. Ramiele Malubay , known for being one of the finalist in American Idol three seasons ago. I'm sure everybody knows that she is a Filipino, and although she didn't make it to the top, but many sees her as a talented Filipino singer. One of the articles inside this newspaper was about the Filipino beauty pageant that was held in Miami. There were list of Filipino stores and fastfood, too. This newspaper is very helpful for us, Filipinos, who are here in Florida.

T'is The Season For Gardening

My husband and I went to Home Depot this morning to buy the things we need for our gardening. He believes that it is the right time to start with our garden because the weather started to go up. We bought garden gloves, seeds, plants, soils and fertilizers. I am so excited about this. I am happy that he is into this, too. I love the feeling that we were working on one project, sharing the same passion and one vision.

I believe some of you remember that I posted here my indoor mini garden, too. As of now I have three indoor planters and am looking forward to get more because I saw some cactus in Home Depot and I want to go back there to buy them. I want to fill my little table, and our windows with indoor plants. I am looking on the internet for stylish planters and saw bunches of them at ePlanters.com. The image shown is a decorative planter from ePlanters.com. It is ideal for hanging plants, cactus and herbs. I really like it and would like to have one for my cactus collection. For more images of high end planters , visit their website.

My Second Piece Of Crochet Blanket

Finally, I am done with my second piece of crochet blanket. I can't recall anymore on when I started this, and I had weeks that I stopped working on this, too. I made this blanket for my mama, and hopefully, when I get the chance to visit Philippines, I'll carry this with me to give to her. I like this very much and I am sure that my mama will like this, too, because she likes light colors. The materials on this are sponsored by Aunt Kathy and Aunt Sallie. They both knew that I am going to give this blanket to my mama.

I love doing crafts. When I was still in school, I always get excited to learn new art projects. I always gave extra effort on it, if not, then I would have to do it all over again. That was my life being a student.

Talking about being a student, living in a flat was the exciting part of it. It was the first stepping stone on becoming independent, which most students embraces. One most known place in UK is the Student Lettings Leeds . The good thing in that place is that they are accredited and their houses comply with the advanced code of standards, have burglar alarms, fire alarm systems or mains interlinked smoke detectors, emergency lighting in large properties, washing machines and microwaves as standard. Pickard only manage their own properties , and can therefore provide responsible and satisfactory service.

Healthy Lips

Anybody who has visited our house would have noticed that my lip shiners are everywhere. Yes, they are literally everywhere. I place one on my computer table, to remind me to apply it on my lips every time I sit down here. I place one on my bed table to remind me to apply it on my lips every time I lie down to bed and on every time I rise up, too. I place one on our car, to remind me to apply it on my lips when needed due to air and sunlight. I place one on my purse, too. For me, it is really important to maintain healthy lips because it can either make you look younger or look older.

You got to be careful, too, in using a lip shiner, because some of the products could make your lips crack and swell. You may want to try this healthy lip shine by Lavanila. They have this luxuriously healthy approach when it comes to beauty revolution. Their products are made with dedication to create a unique collection of healthy products that are natural, nourishing and captivating. Their line of healthy fragrance are carefully made specially for those who have inability to wear fragrance due to some allergy symptoms because they are natural, skin-friendly and free of everything else. Lavanila products include all natural lip shine , healthy fragrance, body butter, body wash and deodorant.

Let us enjoy being a woman by taking care of our self. We are special.

Happy Monday Everyone!

In my life's view, we don't need the 1st day of the year to strongly motivate us into having life's resolution. If we fail to accomplish what we had started during the 1st day of the year, don't let it end there. We can use every 1st day of the month, every Monday or even every day to start all over again.

My husband and I had a list of our life's resolution during the 1st day of the year. We are happy that we have a good progression to some of them, but we also have bad ones, too. One thing is very important though, we keep trying and we do not lose the fervor.

I admit to myself that I had been falling miles and miles away to some areas in my life lately. I am so sorry about it. Today is Monday, I want to make this day as a fresh start in taking the road upward again. With God's spirit and blessing, I am looking forward on renewing that gift that God bestowed on me. For I believe that there is nothing more fulfilling than doing what God wants us to do and to continue finding out on what else you can do in life in service to God.

"...for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her." (Proverbs 8:11 NIV)

I Need A Faster Internet

I don’t know if anybody had noticed, but my blogging activity is not as regular as it was two months ago. Even my visiting activity has becoming irregular, too. I miss those times thay I can post several times a day and can still visit several bloggers, too, and yet, I still had time for other things such as playing farm on the Facebook or watching Filipino show in YouTube.

The reason for this is the poor internet we have. It has literally consumed most of my time waiting for the loading of my blog or a website that I want to open. It is so frustrating. We need to find a solution to get rid of this. I don’t want this situation to stay like this forever. This is my loss. So, my husband has decided to look for a better option. He had in mind to try satellite high speed internet . There goes My Blue Dish, heard it somewhere. They provides high speed internet for even the most remote rural locations everywhere in the continental of U.S.A. It download speeding is up to 1.5 mbps. 30X faster than dial up.

After reading the information from their website, my husband is convince to consider this one and see how good this will serve us.

Investment Talk

My mom-in-law is working in a hospital and is considering retiring soon, while my dad-in-law has been retiring long time ago. I understand that it is very common that we get concern of our future if we start to think about retirement. To most of us, we want to picture ourselves enjoying our old age without worrying about money. Dad and mom were talking about investment. I agree with them when they said that it is never too early to talk about our old age. There are ways to enjoy retirement if you know what to do. Normally, having regular job does not guarantee to take us to our dream vacation. We want to see ourselves in a nice place, enjoying the food, sight and accommodation. That is something common between my husband and I. We both love to see new places, try new fine dining and fine accommodation. Smart investment is one good way to materialize this dream.

Considering for investment should be taking with wise decision. FirstTrade.com is a leading online brokerage firm that allows customers in stock trading at very competitive costs. Oopps, I Did It Again

It was first day of the year, my husband and I were doing our daily devotion. At the end of our reading, we started talking about what we look forward on this new year. There are things that we want to do, we want to improve and we want to eliminate. We note them down, with the determination to accomplish them. We agreed to review our list every first day of the month and encourage one another to fulfill them.

One of the things that are on my list (and I considered important) was about my sleeping habit. I wanted to wake up earlier than what I am usually doing, and to sleep earlier than what I am usually doing. I am very serious about it, but it is really hard for me to sleep early because I always want to be able to accomplish many things as possible before calling it "day's end".

Now, I am looking at the wall clock ... it is almost 2:00 o'clock in the morning. Ooopps, I did it again! This is really frustrating. I hope somebody can give me tips or help on how I can change myself about this problem. It is a cycle problem. If I sleep late, I have to wake up late to provide my body the "8 hours" it needs (or I can't function well for the day). Therefore, I have to wake up late. Then, I have to sleep late again, to be able to accomplish as much as possible to my own satisfaction. (Sigh!) Am I sick?

Talking about wall clock, if you want to purchase a unique wall clock, visit 1-800-4clocks.com. It is a home page for all new and attractive clocks. Some of their products are on sale. Go and check them out.

Mackinac Bridge - Michigan

It has been three months since we left Michigan to move here in Florida, to be on our own, and I want to say that I miss Michigan. It has been my first home here in USA. I have been staying there for 16 months. I am glad that it has happened to be in that way, because I had the chance to experience country living surrounded with farms and gardens; experienced the cold winter and seen the beauty of autumn in Michigan.

Michigan is a beautiful state. One of the experiences I had there that I can consider as “most wonderful” was when we went up north for our 1st year wedding anniversary. As we drove up north, sights were getting exciting. Hills. Trees. Wide Roads. They are so awesome. Then, we passed the 5-mile Mackinac Bridge. It was such a breath-taking experience. Imagine the feeling of being in one of the longest bridge in the world. It's fantastic! Past that bridge is the St. Ignace. It was our destination and we stayed there for 3 days and 3 nights.

Talking about bridge, it takes reliable bridge fasteners to build one. People are putting their lives on it. It takes to have the most enduring anchor systems , including wedge anchors and epoxy anchoring systems to retain integrity and longevity in the most demanding application such as bridge, elevator, marine construction and many more. For more information about this, visit Baco’s Achoring System .

Blogroll Update

We have a cold morning today again. I was shaking while I fumbled through our cupboard for my favorite mug. Then, I sat down in front here in my computer. I was doing my regular early routine which was to check on my mails and to check on comments, while I was holding my favorite mug of hot chocolate. I was receiving message from both new and old blogger friends saying that they are having new blogs and that the old ones they used to have have are not active anymore. So, I have decided to update my blogroll because I also realized that a lot of those that are on my list had quit blogging, too.

So, I have decided to wipe out all that are in my blog list because I am not sure which one is still active in bloggin. Please bear with me that I have to ask you to add your blog on my page by commenting on this post. I will then go visit your blog to see if you have added mine, too. This is to the advantage of all of us, especially to those who are doing paid blogging. Happy blogging 2010!

Stone Bench For Our Garden

How I wish that the winter will be over sooner than it will. I miss the spring time. It brings a lot of fun. It is about cleaning the house, tending the vegetable garden, planting flowers and making your lawn beautiful. On my previous post I was talking about my indoor garden. And in the next few days, my husband and I will be doing outdoor gardening, too, on a small spot in front of our parking space. I am looking forward to it with excitement, and am making plans that have to do with gardening.

I would probably ask my husband of getting some garden benches . I believe it will be a good idea, to sit down and enjoy the soothing atmosphere that a garden can bring. Stone garden benches can provide a stunning accent on the garden. Stone benches are not only great to look at, but they also provide other benefits such as mood enhancer that may have effect on the brain because of its nature materials and is good for over-all well-being. The effect of being surrounded by nature is considered as some form of therapy, too. The pleasantness it brings to our eyes enhances the tranquility and peacefulness of your outdoor living areas and patios.

The image shown is from the site of StoneBenches.com. Isn't it cute? I would like to have one like this, too. They are producing symmetrical design features of stone garden benches and memorial benches , too. Visit their site to see more of the designs and options.

My Indoor Garden

Yesterday was a good day. I mean, it was sunny and warm. I had decided to start with my new project which is the indoor garden. I have three empty pots, dirt and a little table to put them on. I went to my neighbor, whom I already asked permission to take some from her plants to start with my own. And this is it... my little indoor garden. I am looking forward to have more pots and more different kind of indoor plants, or maybe some cactus... whichever will come first.

I was not so sure how to do the re-potting, and so I had decided to search it on the internet and here is what I have found:

*You will need garden gloves, it don't have to be fancy - use disposable latex or rubber gloves. *Weather permitting, repot outside on the ground and that way you can be as messy as you want. If this is not an option use a large table, workbench, or on your kitchen sink area. Lay down a cheap plastic tablecloth on your work surface.
* Your container should have a hole(s) in the bottom. If you are using a large fancy container that is going to house your actual pot, put a garbage bag inside as a liner to protect it. If you have a bottom under your new pot, you may over water and it would run over into the large one.
*If you want, use a large spoon to scoop soil into pot. I like to use my hands.
*Spread out the roots on top of the soil and then add soil to fill pot. Make sure plant is centered. Press down soil around plant. Add water a little at a time until it starts coming out the bottom. Press down the soil again. You may need to add a little more soil after it starts leveling out. If available, spray outside of pot gently with water to clean it off.

*You can also lightly spray leaves.
*Put pot in saucer.

Poor Manatees

We have been living here in Florida for three months already. My husband and I have never seen manatees yet. We have seen a lot in tv news about their poor situation and thus, we had decided to go to Satellite Beach to see them this afternoon.

The cold weather here in Florida is causing big problems to a lot of things, and one of them are to the manatees. More than a hundred of these big sea cows have crowded into this Satellite Beach canal in Brevard County looking for warmth. It is really amazing to see that they end up here in trying to escape the brutal cold water. The problem is they have been there for about one week and they have eaten away all the vegetation in the canal. The grass used to grow all the way down to the water and they have eaten it all, so now the manatees either starve or venture into frigid waters.
The cold weather has turn Satellite Beach into one of the hottest shows in town. Dozens of manatees crammed into the tiny canal to escape the cold weather. The sea cows drew more and more people to see them everyday. Authorities have tried to keep sightseers a safe distance so they don't scare the animals, and that is why they put yellow tape around the canal. We are all hoping that the weather will turn high again very soon, to save the lives of manatees and of many other creatures and plants that are in critical situation here in Florida.

Looking For Authentic Prints?

When I was still in the Philippines, I take pleasure in giving gifts. I enjoyed taking the challenge of finding out what gift would spark an interest to individual. It doesn’t have to be expensive to do that. I remember a couple of years ago, it was September, every stores and malls in Cebu City were starting to have all kinds of sales from September to December. I bought and gather stuff that I know somebody among my family or friends would surely like it, and start to wrap them by the second week of December. That was very fulfilling.

According to my experience in gift-giving, male in their late teens are the ones that I had hard time finding on what kind of gifts they would like to receive, especially if they already have all those latest gadgets. To be honest, I have to ask somebody of the same age about what they would like to get for a gift. Posters. Prints. Shepard Fairey Prints has amassed a large collection of authentic out of print Shepard Fairey art prints and other collectibles. They are now offering this collection direct to the public. They have one of the most extensive collections, such as Fairey Shepard Prints , Obey Giant Prints and many more. If there is a piece you are in search of, but dont see online, they might possibly have it. All you need to do is to contact them.

Happy Birthday, Mama

It is my mama's birthday today, 13th of January. I called her last night (morning in Philippine time) to greet her, and my husband greeted her, too. I am so sad that I missed her birthday for the second time now. I am so sad that I was not able to go because the money that I am raising up could not be enough to make the trip fulfilling.
.
Anyhow, I was talking to my mama about this few weeks ago, and she understood my situation. She even told me to take my time preparing for the trip. She knows my heart. I am so thankful to God for giving me a very loving, caring and understanding mother. I am just sad that besides of being not there, the letter that I sent her 40 days ago did not arrive yet. But other than that, she is pefectly fine and in good health. I always thank God for that. I sent her money every month for her needs, and because I want to make sure that she always have money of her own. I really miss my mama. Now that I missed her birthday again, I don't know when will be the perfect time to go and visit her.

Use Hair Blow Dryers To Avoid Pnuemonia

Jane (my Filipino neighbor) and I went to Wal-Mart for our “girls only” moment. We walk our way to Wal-Mart which is only 300 yards away from our house. It was very cold outside that we both have to wear gloves, boots and jacket. She happened to mention to me her observation that she was always the only one who had wet hair every time they go out in the morning. I explained to her that people here are avoiding the possibilities of pneumonia that it can cause, and that is why most people here are either taking shower on night time or to use hair blow dryers before going out.

It is really cold here in Florida that every time we go out, we have to wear fleece. I find Patagonia fleece very comfortable and it keeps me warm when I go out. Wearing boots is also very important to me because I always have cold feet, no matter how many layer of socks I wear. I like Jessica Simpson Clancey Boots . It is beautiful and made of very durable materials. Most of my purchases were done online, because it saves me time and no need to rush. Become.com is one great online shopping where you can find many good deals for almost everything that you need.

Announcing The Shutting Down Of My Cafe

I am announcing the temporary shutting down of my GeeAnn Cocina for the sake of some other things that are of more importance to me. This is part of our strategic plan for more productive year 2010 and we are looking for more good things to happen in return.

GeeAnn Cocina was in operation for three months. I had fun with it, and at the same time, made some friends through it. In a few days, I will be announcing another shutting down.

Playing is good for the mind. I know, I will be playing again in the future, after everything will be in proper order. To all my fellow Cafe World player, thanks for all the gifts and enjoy the game.

Movie Moment For More Stronger Marriage Life

When we were still in Michigan, my husband was subscribing to Direct TV . It enables the whole family to follow every football game of individual's favorite team. It was really great having Direct TV because we can watch HD movies every night which were our bonding moment. And having a television in every room, it was easier for all of us to watch what we want as an individual. The good thing with Directv subscription is that even if we move here in different state, we can still able to continue our Direct TV service. We moved here in Florida three months ago, my parent-in-law will be coming here in Florida sometime next month for vacation, and they will be the one to bring the receiver, and so that we can continue here in Florida our Direct TV service. I am excited about that.

Talking about Direct TV, don’t you know that Directv the most exclusive and diverse sports programming of any satellite or cable television provider? Other than that, there are many other great products that Direct TV is offering. Direct TV in Florida has more channels, movies, sports or premium channels such as football game every Sunday (which is very important to the family).

If you are interested on this, I suggest that you visit their website and learn more about their service and your choice of package that is within your budget. Let us make our movie time more pleasurable and affordable at the same time. If it is something for the sake of marriage, we have to make it better.

"Little Joe" & ""FPJ"

The picture on the left is "little Joe Cartwright" of Bonanza and the picture on the right is our very own (Filipino) Fernando Poe Jr. a.k.a. "FPJ". "Bonanza" is one of my husband's favorite old tv show. I enjoyed watching it, too. It took me a few months to realize that "little Joe" and "FPJ" have something in common. Here are some that I have noticed:
*First of all, aren't they look alike?
*They are both outstanding action stars.
*Their way of acting are similar. I find it amusing.
*They are both "women magnet".
*And... they are both dead.

Stay Safe On The Road

Now that we are here in Florida, I feel more pressure to learn to drive. I regretted that I did not take seriously what my mother-in-law always told me when I was still in Michigan, to start learning to drive. It would have been easier for me to learn there because the traffic is not as bad as it is here in Florida. Orville, my husband’s cousin, commit himself to be the one to teach me to drive. I can almost imagine myself having hives during that time.

Talking about driving, Play It Safe Blog is perfect for somebody like me who is in the stage of learning to drive. We are all aware that however careful we are on the road, some unsafe cars could put our lives in critical situation. Play It Safe Blog has helpful tips, articles and videos on what we need to learn about driving and such. They also provide information on auto insurance which is very important part of driving, too.

I now realize that the problem in driving does not lie on how bad my driving skills will be, because the fact is, there are many people that are on the road and could possibly be worse than I can. SafeAuto will be needed to protect us and our car. Getting auto insurance should be done with careful consideration and smart decision. Visit their website for more interesting information about safe driving.

Cozy Nights

It has been unusually cold here in Florida for five (5) straight nights. Unusual, because they say that Florida doesn't get cold in winter like we have now. It usually just around 50's in the evening, but unbelievably, we have below 30's in the past few nights. We even had snow here in the south part of Florida. The news reported said that the last time there was snow on Florida was around 1970's. Oh, how the children love the snow, and were very happy to see them on the ground Saturday morning.
.
My friend in Michigan called me right after they saw in television the news about having snow here in Florida. They make fun of me, because they know that we moved here in Florida because I didn't like the cold weather up there in Michigan. We had a happy conversation on the phone and we both miss each other.
.
Since the cold nights started, my husband and I decided to sleep on the living room, because it is a lot more chilly in our bedroom than in our loving room. This is how we look like during nights, we connect the sofa couch and the love seat together, we put a fleece blanket on it to keep us warm and we cover ourselves with comforter. We both like it that way, very cozy and comfortable; and at the same time, my husband can watch TV as long as he wants. The only thing that I didn't like is that it made me get up late in the morning because I feel so cornered that I can't move too much.
.
Talking about chill, we need to do something with the window in our bedroom to prevent the entering of the cold air from outside. Or maybe a thick curtain can help it, too. We are not done with the window project anyway. We are looking for shutters to make it more beautiful.

Luggage Talk

In a few days it will be my mama’s birthday, and I am still here in Florida. I am so sad about that. I was really hoping to be able to visit her this time, but the money that I raise would not be enough to make the vacation satisfying. I was talking to my mama last Christmas day; she understood my situation and told me to take my time raising more money for the trip; that it is all just up to me. So, instead of visiting her, I just sent her the money during Christmas day and will send her again for her birthday.

Actually, I started gathering stuffs that I will be going to give away to my family and friends. I just hope I don’t have to bring more than two luggage bags, or else I will be paying for extra charge. That would be a waste of money.

Talking about luggage , there is one thing that I learned from travelling; it is best to have luggage bags that outstands out from the rest to make it easier to be recognized. When we were travelling to Florida, we had 2 big black luggage bags and to my despair, several other luggages look the same with ours. I tied some colored cords on the handles of them for markings, but somehow they were loosen up and were lost.

I love this Caribbean Joe Key West Luggage Collection. I found these from Sam’s Club. They are made of diamond weave palm tree dobby and are lightweight yet extremely durable. It can expand to increase packing capacity by 25% and features an internal retractable dual-tube telescopic handle with push button system. Sam’s Club has a wide collection of luggage sets , carry-on bags and duffel bags . Check them out on their website.

Human Beings Are Made To Rule The Universe

1st Sunday of the year 2010, we were not able to go to church because my husband was not feeling good. I had decided to just come online to listen to the uploaded sermon of our church in Cebu City, Philippines, which is the Living Word Christian Ministries. The title of the sermon that I was listening to was "Man, The Crown of God's Affection", delivered by Bro. Mel Caparros on July 28, 2009.

He was sharing a glimpse on how big our universe is. Look at the image #1, you can see that the planet Earth is bigger among 5 other planets. Pluto, now considered a dwarf planet as noted in the image at left. You can see why Venus is considered Earth’s ‘sister planet’ as they are similar in size. But take a look at this image #2, it has all nine planets in our solar system somewhat to scale. Can you find where is the planet Earth? If you need help, I'll tell you that it is in the left side, among the lowest row. Well, this is not a surprise to many of us though.

What about this image #3, I can hardly see our planet Earth there. Hmm... We all know that Sun is waaaay bigger than all these planets, but I never thought the Earth would like that small.

But I am not done there... look at this images #4. This is awesome! Can you see the Sun? It now becomes the smallest star among these other stars. As we all know that the Sun is one of the few largest stars in the universe. The scale is fairly astounding in this view, what do you think? Note the size of ‘giant’ Jupiter (only 1 pixel in this perspective)… And Earth wouldn’t even register on this scale…
And for this image #5, this is totally breath-taking. The Sun has now become just 1 pixel in size. Isn't that marvelous? These image are taken from Kiro Astro .
This fact help us to realize how big our God is, yet... in Psalm 8, you will find that God's heart is on us, human beings. Read this whole chapter to help you understand God's love on us.
"LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what are mere mortals that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!" Psalm 8 (NIV)

What Is Your Favorite Subject?

I was talking to a six years old girl this morning and was asking me how many years ago since I was out of school. Well… I almost choked. I realized I am that old now. I have to use my hands to count how many years it was since then. Whew! After giving her the answer, I asked her back; “What is your favorite subject?” “Math.” Wow! This girl must be smart, having Math as her favorite subject. I want to believe that she must have somebody that inspires her on this subject, or her teacher must be a good one, that made her enjoy Math. However, I believe that it has to do with the way the teacher explained it. If he or she explained it in a boring way, there is no way that we will love and learn the subject. Your only chance would be in the self-study.

Talking about self-study; today’s students have the advantage of internet. If you need Math help , Guaranteach.com is there to give students, parents and teachers a better way to learn and teach Math. Its online tutoring is one of the Internet's best resources for teaching and learning math. They have added some extra features too, like an assessment quiz that profiles a user's learning style and recommends videos to match it, quizzes that let students practice the math they learn, and reports that track progress. Guaranteach is exactly the all in one site including Algebra Tutoring , too. They are just more convenient and fun. Since Algebra is pivotal in branching out to other fields, it is important to get the best Algebra help in studying the subject that approved by teachers.

Time To Give Thanks For All The Christmas Cards

It is January 8th today. For me, as what I annually did, it is time to give thanks to all the Christmas cards we have received for the past Christmas season. Let us keep spreading the true spirit of Christmas and hold on to it. They mean so much to us. All the Christmas cards that we received are carefully kept and treasured forever. As it was our first Christmas time being on our own, I would like to start keeping all those cards that we received as much as possible.

It is so nice to know that some people still give “real” Christmas cards, even in these “high-tech” years. Some people settled on sending e-Cards, text message, etc. We got a lot of them, too, and I would like to say that there is nothing wrong with them, but I want to specifically give thanks to those who spend extra effort in sending the “real” Christmas cards.

We are not only getting Christmas cards from our families, friends and relatives, we are also getting Business Christmas Cards from people whom we have transaction with. We appreciate that, too. That is just so right to do for the sake of Christmas. A million thanks to everyone again.

Turquoise - Color of 2010

Every start of the year, most of us always wants to know what is the color of the year in terms of fashion. I do that. Pantone, which tracks colors in the fashion, design and home-décor industries, has named Turquoise the color of 2010. Pantone's executive director said it was the obvious choice because it's soothing and makes people think of being on vacation, which we all need after the tough year of 2009. We could also use a vacation from last year's color, the far less universally flattering mimosa.

How true! This is my Sarong, a gift from my husband during his first visit in Cebu. He bought this from the gift shop in one of the beach resort that we stayed on, while I was away doing some shopping. He had surprised me with this sarong when I came back. It is really very pretty and the color is very attractive. It is my husband's favorite color. The color is Torquoise, (and has faded a little bit over time of use). As stated above, the color is very soothing and it made people think of being on vacation.

Talking about design in the fashion market, professional logo design is as well played important role in making the business successful.

Who Don't Love Pearl?

It has been a while ago that I started to purchase anything like lotions, cologne, jewelries, electronics and purses either from online stores or from on-site stores. I gathered them for the purpose of gift-giving when I get the chance to visit my family in the Philippines. I am a little bit frustrated that I can’t visit on this month where it will be my mama’s birthday because I had it figured out that the money I have will not be enough to enjoy the trip, and besides, everybody told me that this time of the year is the time where most job opportunities are available. I had talked over phone to my mama about this and she lovingly understood me. I just miss my mama so much that I want to be there soon so bad.

I was talking about online store where I purchased some of the presents, and I want to share you this one website where you can find pearl earrings in a price amazingly affordable, SamsClub.com. The image shown is a pair freshwater pearl and diamond drop earrings. It is so pretty, isn’t it? I am sure my sisters will love it because they are fond of freshwater pearl earrings . I love wearing black pearl earrings . It doesn’t give me too much worry on what attire that will perfectly go with it. If you love this you will surely love their pearl and diamond earrings . I wonder if there is anybody that don't love pearl? Visit their website to see all of their items.

Top 10 Entrecard Droppers- December '09

There I go again. I am (AGAIN!) 4 days late on posting my Top 10 EC Droppers for the month of December "09. How did I missed this again? Well, at least not as bad as the previous month. I was 7 days late then. Blame it on my over obsession in decorating our home. Lately, I was so busy looking for tall tv stand , and I found it already. :)

Anyway, here is my post of expressing my sincere gratitude to all my EC droppers again, especially these top 10 Entrecard droppers of the month of December '09. I give the credit to them on making me stay on where I am. I acknowledge that you contributed very much on why I am still here. I appreciate your dropping very much.
