Blow Ups

I appreciate the guest post, Vito Rivers

My husband was online looking at fort worth direct tv when he came across a website that offered reviews of household appliances. At the time, we were in the market to purchase a new oven. Over the course of the last six months, our gas oven would click on by itself! It was the most bizarre situation, and in all honesty, it became a safety issue. Countless times I would be sitting in the living room and faintly hear the click of the oven igniting. I would go and open the oven door, and gas fumes would pour out. Sometimes the oven would actually ignite; other times it would just simply pour gas. This became such a hassle because while we were researching oven issues and recalls to figure out if this was a fixable problem, we would have to pull the oven from the wall each day and shut the gas off at the main when we weren’t using it. A few times I found myself awaking in a dead panic that I had not shut the gas off, and I would jump out of bed to make a huge racket by pulling the oven away from the wall to double check the gas. In the end, a repair main cited a faulty starter on the oven, but it was actually cheaper to replace the unit than repair it. Several websites noted other consumers with similar issues, but this was not a problem isolated to one particular brand.
