CHOOSING A LEADER

(This was originally posted last September 10th, but prior to the present events here in USA, I had decided to move this on this day with the hope that somebody might get some insights from this post for the presidential election tomorrow.)

PRO or Anti?

Are you a PRO or Anti GMA? (GMA is the initial name of our president in the Philippines) We often encountered this questions especially during political and economic crisis. It is obvious that the multitude don't like some of our political figures. Some of us blame the hardships and struggles we are facing right now to them. Some of us wanted somebody else on that certain position rather than the one who is currently there.

But looking back to 33 A.D. , we will find out that there's not much different on how people were so desperate to have a certain person to be their leader, but in just a matter of time, the very same crowd who used to praised the certain person were the same ones who cursed him to death on the cross.

What happened? They want a leader who caters to their impulses, whims and needs but were not willing to do what ought to be done. Its the same thing to some of us in the present time. When things do not turn favorable to us, we blame the leaders. We fail to realize that instead of finding fault with them, it is our individual responsibility to pray for them... for guidance and wisdom in their decision making.

Proverbs 8:13-18
13 To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.
14 Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight, I have power.
15 By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just;
16 by me princes govern, and nobles—all who rule on earth. [
b]
17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.
18 With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity.
