Electronic Bible

When I was yet in the Philippines, I had an electronic Bible NIV by Franklin. It is a battery operated and very easy to use. Exactly the same one shown in the right picture. I like it very much especially when I do my study or writing an article. But I gave it to my best friend, Ann, prior to my moving here. And since I don't have it anymore, I am planning to buy myself a new one.

I found this other one in Christian Book.Com, Electronic Bible, NKJV by WowBible. A little expensive. This one is colored and better than my old one. But I still prefer NIV. Maybe I will continue browsing until I can find a good price. Or maybe I will try e-bay.

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness..." 2 Timothy 3:16 NIV

I think it is really amazing what a technology can do, maybe we can't find any excuse by them why we are not bringing our scripture. I have plan to buy one too. Good luck.

One of the advantages of the NKJV over the NIV is that it is more literal and closer to the original language than the NIV. This can be important, because when translators go too far in trying to make the text easy to read by using modern ways of speaking and paraphrasing, their own opinions and biases enter into the text, and this can cause inaccurate translations. When I read passages in the NIV, I never know if what I am reading is really what God is saying or is the interpretation of the translator.
