"No Smoke Can Be Clasped At The Palm Of Your Hand"

"No smoke can be clasped at the palm of your hand." This phrase was said a lot of times when somebody suspected somebody doing something "fishy".

There are some things you cannot embrace without losing what you have in the process. This reminds me of the wrong choice that I did that had almost cost me my life, but God was so gracious that He had forgave me and gave me the chance to turn away from the wrong choice I had.

"Can a man take fire to his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?" Proverbs 6:27
.
The book of Proverbs were about warnings of any kind of snare including sexual immorality and wrong choices in life. Together with the rest of the Bible, such insights help us to understand the wisdom of an eternal God who loves us far more than our own mothers and fathers do. His Word also points us to the One who can help us even if we have "grabbed a fire" in our hands.

Life offers us choices. We need the wisdom of God to help us see and grab the right choices. Christ graciously offers us forgiveness for what was past, and wisdom for what yet lies ahead. The lessons of life are best learned when Christ is your teacher.
