Small Things For His Service

This is not to boast, but the glory goes to God.
.
While I was still in the Philippines, and joining the fellowship with the big congregation (for almost a decade), I noticed that most of the offering envelope plastic case that were stuck on the back of each of the chair were torn. A thought impressed on my mind to set a day to fix them. And I did. There were days that I would set off going to the church building, together with my packed lunch and spend the whole day fixing the torn offering envelope plastic case using "wide scotch tape" that I bought. I am talking about 800+ chairs. That means to say that I can't do it all in one day. I did'nt remember how many times I did it. I am happy to be able to serve God in a small way, but was sad that I was not able to finish it because I have to move here in Michigan.
.
Jesus, himself, demonstrated to us doing not just the big things, but also the small things in service to others. When He walked on earth as a man, He washed feet, welcomed children, and willingly gave His life to deliver us from the self-centered tyranny of sin. His example should prompt us to do small things for His service, too. Bear in mind that we can do great things for the Lord if we are willing to do little things for others. And above all, may our service brings glory to God... and not to us, because after all, life is all about HIM.
.
"This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God." (2 Corinthians 9:12 NIV )
