Food Trip Friday #17 - Clams

I am joining Mommy Willa on this "Food Trip Friday" meme for a reason that I want to challenge myself to try something new food at least once a week in order for me to learn to cook.

I love clams. Actually, I love almost all kinds of sea foods. When I first met my husband (he was my boyfriend then), the only sea foods he can eat was shrimp. He had Gambas at Tambuli and he liked it very much. Then, I made him tasted grilled squid, and he was surprised that he liked it.
.
Few months after I arrived here, I started missing my kind of food, and so, by the help of my best friend in Cebu, I learned to cook Filipino foods, which I never did before when I was still in the Philippines. Every time I cook something new, I always made my husband have some taste. On his age of almost 50, he had his first mussel, oyster and clams; and he like them all. Everybody who knows him had a hard time believing that I made him eat those and like those.
.
He likes best the clams. Few days ago, we went to the fish market and bought a hundred clams. Yes, a hundred clams, because it is cheaper by hundreds. Here is how I cook them:
*Bring to boil a large pot with 6 cups of water
* Add 5 large tomatoes, 5 stalks of green onions, 5 cloves of crush garlic, few dashes of salt and pepper.
*Clean the clams shell using an old toothbrush.
*When the water starts boiling, put the clams on it. Put the lid on.
*Taste and season as desired.
*Remove from heat five minutes after the second boiling and serve.
.
And guess what, he had seventy clams while I had thirty. :)
