The front page shows the image of Ms. Ramiele Malubay , known for being one of the finalist in American Idol three seasons ago. I'm sure everybody knows that she is a Filipino, and although she didn't make it to the top, but many sees her as a talented Filipino singer. One of the articles inside this newspaper was about the Filipino beauty pageant that was held in Miami. There were list of Filipino stores and fastfood, too. This newspaper is very helpful for us, Filipinos, who are here in Florida.
There's nothing more fulfilling than doing what God wants us to do, to continue on finding out on what else you can do in life in service to others, and to use your gifts.

Thypoon "Ondoy"
I am so sad with this tragedy that happened recently in my beloved country, Philippines. On September 26, 2009, Typhoon Ondoy brought a month's worth of rainfall to Metro Manila and nearby areas in just a few hours, causing severe flooding which resulted in the loss of many lives and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people..
Typhoon Ondoy is what The Filipinos called for Ketsana Storm. It attacked The Philippines last week. The scientists predict it will attack Malaysia and Hainan, China, next month. How true can this be?
.
I am thankful to know that the whole world (government and non-government organization) is joining hands in helping the victims. This reminds me when I was still in the Philippines that my best friend and I volunteered ourselves in packing goods and clothes to be distributed to the victims. I appeal to please pray for the victims and may God bless the volunteers, too.

Positive Proof Of Global Warming
The phrase global warming refers to the documented historical warming of the Earth's surface based upon worldwide temperature records that have been maintained by humans since the 1880s. The term global warming is often used synonymously with the term climate change, but the two terms have distinct meanings. Global warming is the combined result of anthropogenic (human-caused) emissions of greenhouse gases and changes in solar irradiance, while climate change refers to any change in the state of the climate that can be identified by changes in the average and/or the variability of its properties (e.g., temperature, precipitation), and that persists for an extended period, typically decades or longer. Finally, an increase in solar irradiance since 1750 was estimated to have caused a forcing that contributed to the recent warming of the Earth. However, the impact of the increase in the amount of sunlight striking the Earth each year during this ~250 year time span was estimated to be only about 1/20th of the warming impacts of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions.

Space Shuttle Off To The Moon To Find Water Ice
A space shuttle was announced to launch yesterday at 5:32 p.m. EDT at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. Its mission is to search for water ice in a permanently shadowed crater at the moon's south pole. The satelite was lifted off on an Atlas V rocket with a companion mission, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, or LRO..
Its original launching schedule was June 16th, but was cancelled after a hydrogen gas leak was discovered on a vent pipe leading off the shuttle's external tank.

.
We were at Cocoa Beach at around 3:00 p.m., to make sure we can get a better spot. Cocoa Beach is only several minutes away from Cape Canaveral. More and more people were coming as the time of launching get closer. At around 5:20 p.m. , everybody got their cameras and videos ready. So did I. Few minutes later, we heard the very loud roar. I was told it was the space shuttle. We were watching closely at the sky for the space shuttle to appear on sight... but we were disappointed to see nothing. The sky was very cloudy then, that it concealed the space shuttle up in the sky. Or maybe we should have use a binocular. It could surely help. "Well, at least we heard it!" was everybody's consolation words.

"The Mitten of Middle America"
Michigan is the 8th most popolous state in the United States of America. It has the longest freshwater shoreline in the world. Michigan is the center of the American automotive industry. Sugar beet is one of the biggest agriculture among corns, wheat, etc. Deer are very common here and dangerous, too, because they are known as most common cause of road accidents. I once had an experience that while we were driving, the deer out of nowhere just suddenly cross the street. And all of us in the car were screaming.
I am located in the Thumb Area, in between Tuscola and Sanilac County. I didn't have the chance to explore the entire Michigan yet, because of the winter, and also, because my husband is currently in school. But he promise me that by the next spring or summer, we will be driving around Michigan. I love it. :)
