The Hustle

The Hustle

During my first few months here in USA, it amazed me how everybody know how to dance this. I have seen our visitors and guests dance this on our wedding day. I have seen people who didn't knew each other dance this on the dance floor last New Year's eve. I have seen campers dance this on the ground. I have seen this on TV, too. So, is this your national dance?

The Hustle is the most popular line dancing here in America, and according to Wikipedia, it is a catchall name for several disco dances which were extremely popular in the 1970s. Today it mostly refers to a unique partner dance done in ballrooms and nightclubs. It has some features in common with swing dance. In the 1970s there was also a line dance called the Hustle--which is regaining popularity as people throw '70s theme parties or schools have '70s dance performances.

It's Never Too Late To Learn Ballroom Dancing

My hubby used to be a dancer when he was younger. He had some videos of his great performances during some contest. I enjoyed watching them. He keeps telling me that he wants me to enroll in ballroom dance school. Well, I think it is not too late to learn some dance though. His favorite dance is swing.
.
Talking about dance school, StartDancing.com promotes dance schools in Australia. They’ve got content about popular dance styles such as hip hop, bachat, salsa, etc. I’m curious about salsa dancing and what is behind that dance that made it so dramatic. That is the kind of dance style I want to learn. However, I just learned after reviewing their site that there are different types of salsa styles. Are you a dance diva? Check it out.
