Canning Fruits and Vegetables

This picture was taken from our basement. There in the basement we store our canned fruits and vegetables. We also have a big refrigerator there that stores breads, meats and many more. These fruits and vegetables are our produces here. My dad-in-law has a green thumb, so they say. During spring time and summer, he was on his feet all day doing the gardening. And on early autumn, that's when he start canning the fruits and vegetables which at some time I helped.

I love having garden and I love to eat the fruits and vegetables fresh from your own garden. This is something that I had not experience in my country. And this is one of the reasons that made me wish that winter will soon be over.

wow, lucky you! i wish i could have a garden and can things. but i have a small backyard and i hate worms and every other bug that's in the ground, lol. And then there not exactly enough storage in our basement for something like that either. maybe some day when we have a big house!

Wow! That is a lot of canning and prep work and all that stuff; but it's well worth it. I wish I had a garden big enough to do all that!

I wish we had a house with a basement. There aren't many houses here built with them.

By the way Grace, are you feeling better now? I know you weren't feeling too well after having your shots.

wow, ang galing, sana we have a garden too, where we can plant some fruits and vegetables, so that we know that the food we consume is really fresh.

When I was a bit younger, I always had a huge garden and canned and froze veggies, and made apple butter, and grape jelly, pickles and more. These days, I still have a small garden, and do a little freezing of vegetables, but I no longer can things. It is well worth it though, and you're lucky your fahter in law is such a great gardener, Grace.

Have a wonderful week ahead.

Hugs and blessings,

Renie

I haven't tasted such canned delicacies. It's not a popular thing here in our country, right? It's usually 'dried' not 'canned' here. Wow winter. I wonder how that feels. :)
