Who Is Your God?

Undeniably, our God is a generous and greatly abundant in riches God. But who is your God? How do you present your request to Him? Are you like those who treat God as a genie, that they demand all their wants be catered to right away? Or are you like those who treat God as a king, making humble petition for their needs with reverence and awe?
.
The genie's concern was to be set free from the lamp, and so, he doesn't mind what you are asking whether it is for your good or would bring bad in your lives.
.
The king's concern is for the safety of his people. The king don't jump right away to his people's request. He had to evaluate it first if it would not compromise the safety and peace of the kingdom.
.
God is our King. He can give absolutely everything we may want, but... God is more concern in forming our character than in giving us comfort. God did not take pleasure with our present struggles, but He is looking ahead and sees the comfort it will bring after the storms in our lives. God did not promise excemption from trials, but He promise protection.
.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6 NIV

Amen to that sister. You presented God in a most accurate way that looks more at our eternal benefits rather than the temporal ones. Thanks for your Spirit inspired post. God bless you always.
