Check Our Hearts And Repent

This morning, as I was doing my daily reading on 2 books, I was amazed to find out that on both books there was only one common message and that was "repentance". I believe there was a significance on this, especially because this is coming from our God.
.
The first book I was reading was "The Power of a Praying Wife" and it was about praying that "repentance" may come to our husband's heart, especially to those who needs some conviction of the wrong activities they are in.
.
The second book (my personal daily devotion) was the word of St. Paul in Acts 26:20 "...repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance." He explained that repentance does not mean just nodding in polite agreement with God, and continuing the same way we were going. It is turning our thoughts toward God- with our behavior following. Like a car, we go in the direction we appointed. So, when we truly turn our minds and hearts toward God, our actions change accordingly.
.
It occurs to me then, that there are something that we are doing that might be wrong and we both need repentance. With a repentant heart, we check ourselves and asking for forgiveness. As St. Paul taught, it is only when we are willing to admit being wrong that we can be certain of being right with God.

Hello Grace,
You have a very good understanding about repentance. Peter told those at Pentecost what they needed to do in order to be saved and repentance was one of the requirements. God expects us to turn from our worldly ways and follow His commandments. If we want to enter into the heavenly kingdom where He and His Son dwells, then we must repent of all our wrongdoings and begin living a life that is pleasing to Him

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving another comment. The Fuel Club does work and you need to start keeping all your gas receipts so you can turn them in once you receive your vouchers. You can go back a month from the date you join and use those receipts. Pretty neat, huh? I know this will truly help your family's budget.
