Prayer & Fasting

One of the many things that I am so excited about living here in Florida is the thought that I can resume my monthly "prayer and fasting". I usually did it every last Saturday of the month when I was still in the Philippines together with my brothers and sisters in Christ. When I came to Michigan, I continued that activities because there were one vacant room. But... few months after, my husband's nephew moved to be with us and occupied that vacant room that I used for my "prayer and fasting" and that is why I stopped that regular activity. Oh how I miss doing it.
.
My purpose of prayer and fasting is to refocus on the things of the Lord and renew my mind, so that we can think and act more like Jesus. Its objective is to reflect on what God has said and done and on what He is like.
.
In Psalm 19:14, David wrote, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord."
.
Let us fill our mind with Scripture and focus on the Lord's commands, promises and goodness. These are the things that give us strength, direction and wisdom that we need as we face our every day living.

That is beautiful. I pray every day and fast during lent but that is about it. Maybe I should fast more often.
