When I was still in the Philippines, I involved myself in visitation ministry. I set a day in a week to visit a certain friend to ask how she doing or was there anything that she needed. It doesn't have to be long, and I made sure that I brought snacks for us. I want them to feel the pure happiness that somebody visited them without worrying what to serve. I did it in the name of Jesus.
.
1 John 3:18 "Let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed." When we see a need, it's good to talk about it, but we must also do something about it. We are instructed: "Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only." James 1:22
.
You may feel that you don't have so much time in your hands to be able to do "good deed" to others, believe me, I understand that because I was there. It all starts with a willing heart. Ask the Holy Spirit to place someone on your heart to help in Jesus's name, then take action. Make a difference today. Invest your time in the kingdom of God. It can be by sending a card, give a simple gift, make a call or offer a ride. Love in deed is love indeed.
