Food Trip Friday #19 - Carbonara

I am joining Mommy Willa on this "Food Trip Friday" meme for a reason that I want to challenge myself to try something new food at least once a week in order for me to learn to cook.

During my last few months when I was still in the Philippines, I learned to make Carbonara, and I made it several times to introduce to my family and friends. They all love it. Actually, I bought the Carbonara sauce mix made by McCormick, so it was really very easy to made Carbonara.
.
When I came here in USA, I brought with me two pack of Carbonara sauce mix, looking forward to make it soon after I came here, but it didn't happened.
.
My Filipino neighbor/friend was making Carbonara and invited me over to taste it. Hmm, it was so good. It sparks the eagerness in me to do it, too. So, I bought what I needed and made it. Here are the things that we need to make this kind of Carbonara:
* 6 strips bacon, cut into small slices
* I pack McCormick Carbonara Sauce Mix (35 g)
* 1 cup fresh milk (but we preferred all purpose cream to make it thicker)
* 200 grams pasta ( I like using Penne Rigate)
Directions:
*Cook the pasta according to the instruction of its package.
*Cook bacon in a frying pan over medium heat until crisp. (My friend use chicken liver which I find very good, but because my husband don't eat chicken liver, I have to stick to bacon.)
*Dissolve Carbonara sauce mix in milk (or all purpose cream) and pour over bacon.
*Stirring constantly, bring to a boil and simmer for 1 minute.
*Serve over freshly cooked pasta and garnish with parmesan cheese (if you want, we don't)
*And I like to garnish it with a lot of chopped green onions.
.
You can be creative on it. Enjoy your Carbonara. :)
