Spring Is Coming, Plan Your Gardening.

I can't wait for the spring to come, and then I can resume with my small garden spot. I bought three pots last summer, and I bought a set of garden fence, too. I was not able to work on it because I became too busy with my job, and then before I knew it, it was autumn, and then winter.

I am collecting pretty and unusual pots for my indoor little garden, too. Start A Collection

When I was still in the Philippines, my roommate/bestfriend and I used to collect wines of different kinds. Opps, I hope you don’t get me wrong; we only purchased bottles of wine that were on sale. It was our hobby and it was fulfilling. There were three reasons why we collected wines which were:

*For Display- We display the bottles of wine even if the content were as little as an ounce
*For Good Time Toast- Birthdays, project done, exam passed, promotion and others.
*For Cooking- Beef, liver or lobsters are at its best when you add a few drops of wine in it when cooking.

I had just decided that once we get settle down in our new house in Florida, I will start anew with this hobby. Add to it is to acquire Rogar estate wine opener . I think this is very cool. My First Knitted Scarf

This is my first finished output from my new-bought loom. A knitted scarf. I started on this a week ago, and worked on it half an hour a day. I know it doesn't show so much in the picture, but I think my knitted scarf is not bad for a first timer. In fact, I love it.

I love the color very much. It is called Woodsy, a worsted medium yarn from Red Heart. I always use Red Heart because it is cheaper and it is available in Wal-Mart, where it is just right next to our place.
.
I may give this one to Nanay Becca. I will be making more of this in variety of colors. It will only take one skeins of yarn to make this 2 yards of scarf. I think this will make a good gift to my friends and some family members.

I love crafts, and I love learning new things. Crafts is my one way of expressing my feelings. It is one of my outlet that I can display my accomplishments. It is through working on crafts that I find relaxing moment without being idle.

I can proudly say now that I am ready for the cold strike of winter here in Florida on next month with my fashionable knitted scarf. (Thank you, God, for the pair of hands and for the gift of craftmanship.)

Loom Knitting

Last Friday, I felt uneasy. I am not even sure if "uneasy" is the right word to describe it. I came from my work that day, and can't change my cloths to "house wear" because we need to go to Aunt Kathy's house in an hour to have dinner with them. I didn't feel like going online. I don't feel comfortable staying home if I don't wear a "house wear". Sounds silly, huh? I felt like I want to go somewhere... anywhere, just to go out from the house. I asked my husband to take me out, but he was not in the mood to go out. I insisted, and had no choice but to take me out.

The thrift store which is a mile away was the place that I believe will make me feel better after looking around. He took me there, he stayed behind while I went inside. I only had 10 minutes left before the store will close. I didn't know they close at 4:00 p.m. though.
.
I roamed around, trying to find something that I may like. I really need to bring home something with me. I was running out of time. On the last minute, I found this "thing". I don't know what it was called, but I know this is something for knitting. I don't know how to do it, but I believe I can figure it out through "You Tube". It was only .50 cents, so I bought it.
.
I came out from the store will smile in my face and excitement in my mind. I got a new "toy". I told my husband. I don't need to buy yarns. I got plenty of them in our house. So, the very minute we arrived in our house, I started working on it, figuring out how to use it. I thought I can do it all by myself, but I was wrong. I resigned. So, I went online to "You Tube It". It did not took me so long to learn how to do it. I followed the video and pretty soon enough, I was on my own. I made one black scarf already. Although there was some mistake on it, but I am happy about it because it was my first knitting project. I intent to keep, and yes, will make another one with hopes that it will be perfect this time.

It is through You Tube that I found out that this is what they call Loom knitting. It is an old art, recently become popular again. Looms come in a variety of shapes, including round, oval, and rectangular. Some have a single row of pegs, called single rakes; some have two rows of pegs, called double rakes. The size of the loom is a factor in how large a knit piece can be made on it. The gauge of the loom, or how far apart the pegs are from each other and how large they are, contributes to the size of the knit stitches and the thickness of yarn that works best on it.

Wine As Part Of My Cooking Hobby

I love cooking. I just started doing it after we moved here in Florida where I can say that I am now the queen of my own kitchen. I can do whatever I want, and cook my food in any way I want it. I love experimenting, especially if I can’t find the ingredients that I ought to use. I gather spices and wines of different kind to add quality on the food. Wine is always part of my cooking hobby. Experimenting food is fun.

Cooking With The Stars

I have always wanted to be a professional chef. Although life does not seem to agree with me on the subject, I have found a way to truly enjoy my passion for cooking and food. Watching cooking shows and food stars on Tennessee satellite tvprovides me with the experience of truly feeling like I am in the professional cooking world. I learn great recipes, I cook by the side of my favorite food celebrities and best of all, and my family loves my food! I never imagined watching a cooking program could change my life so much. I have learned more from thirty minutes a day of cooking programming than years of practice and written recipes. The techniques just come to you after you watch them on TV. My favorite cooking stars show me step by step how to perfect the arts of cookies , provide me the recipes and even show me the results. There isn't much more I could ask for than what I already get watching my favorite cooking programs. I feel as if I am in the kitchen with these professional chefs, being tutored one on one. Recipe after recipe turns out delicious. Seeing the food as I cook it provides me with a much better experience. The only thing I enjoy more than watching food programs, is eating the recipes once they're cooked!

Fishing Moment

There are days that my husband and I went to fishing after I got home from work. I love it. It is very relaxing. Plus, I got the chance to bring home some fish for our dinner. This picture was taken during the last time I went with my husband to fish. I got a catch. It was so exciting everytime a fish took my bait. Some of the fish were undersize that we have to throw them back to the water, while some were perfect that we took them home to fry.

I guess I will not be going with them anymore. I was not supposed to fish because I didn't have the license yet. I have to wait 4 months more to be able to buy a resident fishing license, or else I could buy a temporary fishing license which cost the same compare to the whole year resident fishing license... or else, I will be in trouble if some inspector will happen to check on me. Come 4 months, then, I will be able to buy the whole year resident license, and I will be able to go back fishing.

If that time will come, I would like to record that activity. I might want to make a film about Florida life. And talking about filming, I will then need film licensing . Did I hear somebody murmur, "another license"? Well, this is city living. Everything should be legal and in proper accord.

Fishing At Evergreen Park

This day was such a beautiful day and my husband had decided to go out in the sun... some fishing was a good idea. We went to Evergreen Park. Since I am not allowed to fish because I don't have my state ID yet, so, I just spent my day eating... (he-he-he). We brought roasted chicken (traditional style) and some cooked rice. I had a good lunch.

Well, my husband caught no fish. It is either the fish avoided the bait or there were no fish at all. But...several yards away from us, there were few people that were fishing, too. Alright, that means to say, there were really fish in that spot.

Elephants

These are my mom-in-law's collections of elephants of different sized and made of different materials such as;. porcelain, charcoal, jade, glass, wax, opal, coral, fiber glass, lava, etc. They are so cute. Each has a story to tell about where it came from and how she got them.
